Children's Programs

Open to Waldwick Residents Only

Regular programs include:

Bouncing Babies: Thursday 11:30 AM

For children six weeks of age to walking accompanied by an adult. Based on guidelines furnished by the American Library Association's "Born to Read: How to Raise a Reader" program. Includes play rhymes, music, and movement as used in the Diaper Gym program. Registration required.*

Fun for Ones: Thursday 10:15 AM

For children up to the age of two accompanied by an adult. Approximately 25 minutes of simple play rhymes, songs, stories, and suggestions for activities that parents can perform at home, as well as 20 minutes of play time. Registration required.*

Time for Twos: Wednesday 10:15 AM or Friday 10:15 AM

For two-year-olds accompanied by an adult. Approximately 40 minutes of theme-based activities including stories, pattern matching, songs, fingerplays, and socialization. Select one of the two sessions. Registration required.*

Storytime: Tuesday 11:45 AM

For children ages three and up. Approximately 40 minutes of stories, songs, puppetry, music, fingerplays, and other activities. Parents welcome!

After-School Book Bunch: Tuesday 3:30 P.M.

For children ages four to six. Approximately 40 minutes of stories, music, stretches, and occasional crafts. Parents welcome! Registration Required.*

Arts and Crafts for Ages 7 and Up: One Wednesday per month 3:30 PM

We will be making a variety of craft items, sometimes using cutting tools, permanent inks or dyes, paint, hot glue, etc. Crafts require a degree of manual dexterity and patience. Parental assistance is always welcome. Sign up at the Circulation Desk to reserve a space.

* To register for Bouncing Babies, Fun for Ones, Time for Twos or After-School Book Bunch, complete an application at the Circulation Desk. Programs run year-round. You will be contacted as soon as space becomes available. Please be certain there is a current phone number on your application.
